Two Injured in Drive-By Shooting Following Family Custody Dispute

In the city of San Antonio, a heated altercation over a family custody issue culminated in a drive-by shooting, leaving two individuals seriously injured. Local law enforcement reports reveal that the unfortunate incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m. on Saturday, in the 3500 block of South Zarzamora Street.

From Dispute to Shooting

According to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), the dispute involved the mother and grandfather of a young girl. As tension rose, the mother chose to exit the location with her boyfriend, the girl in question, and a 10-year-old boy. The grandfather, however, continued dogged pursuit of the departing vehicle.

The situation took a turn for the worse when the grandfather managed to catch up with the vehicle. Police accounts indicate that he unleashed a barrage of bullets towards the car, leading to the unfortunate shooting.

Victims and Aftermath

The SAPD confirmed that two occupants of the vehicle, the mother and her boyfriend, suffered gunshot wounds. Both sustained non-life-threatening injuries, with the mother shot in the side of her body and her boyfriend in the shoulder. They were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.

Fortunately, both children present in the car escaped the dangerous situation unscathed, evading physical harm. The grandfather, after his shocking recklessness, retreated back to Royston Avenue, where the argument initially started.

Upon his return, law enforcement authorities detained him for further questioning regarding the drive-by shooting. Meanwhile, the children involved in the contentious custody dispute were put under the care of other family members.

Pending Investigation

As of the current moment, the investigation remains ongoing. SAPD assures that further crucial details about the case will be shared as soon as they become available. In the meantime, they are working diligently with the utmost attention to this violent event in a bid to achieve swift justice.

End of Report.
