Filming of ‘1923’ Paramount+ Series Affects Road Traffic in Downtown San Antonio

Several downtown roads in San Antonio will experience closures in the coming weeks due to the filming of the ‘1923’ Paramount+ series. Residents and visitors are advised to plan their routes accordingly to avoid traffic congestion.

Details of Road Closures

The filming of the show, set in 1923 and a prequel of the popular “Yellowstone” series, will necessitate several road closures. The following areas are expected to be affected:

From September 6 to 15, 2024: Street parking will be closed on Broadway between E. Pecan St. and E. Travis St., but roads and sidewalks will remain open.

Schedule of Road Closures from September 16 to 18, 2024

  • Broadway between E. Pecan St. and E. Houston St. will be closed to vehicular traffic, but sidewalks will remain open.
  • Peacock Alley between Jefferson St. and N. Alamo St. will also be closed to vehicular traffic.
  • E. Travis St. between Jefferson St. and N. Alamo St. will be inaccessible to vehicles as well.
  • Northbound traffic on Broadway between E. Pecan St. and 3rd St. will only be allowed.

September 19, 2024 Events

The sidewalks on Broadway between E. Pecan St. and E. Houston St. will be closed during morning filming and are estimated to reopen by afternoon. The usual road closures will be maintained.

Schedule of Road Closures from September 20 to 25, 2024

  • Broadway between E. Pecan St. and E. Houston St. will continue to be closed to vehicular traffic, but sidewalks will remain open.
  • Peacock Alley between Jefferson St. and N. Alamo St. will remain closed to vehicles.
  • E. Travis St. between Jefferson St. and N. Alamo St. will stay closed to vehicular traffic.
  • Northbound traffic on Broadway between E. Pecan St. and 3rd St. will continue to be the only movement allowed.

Business Operations and Accommodations

All businesses will remain open and accessible, excluding the morning of September 19. Residents, business owners, and visitors have been notified of these closures. The production team has made efforts to coordinate with area stakeholders for accommodations.
