Chilly San Antonio Mornings: A Forgust of Fall
A wave of autumnal air is set to sweep San Antonio, veering temperatures into the low-60s in the early morning hours. Residents will be able to enjoy an ‘autumn appetizer’ on Sunday and Monday mornings, signaling a brief respite from the high temperatures of late summer.
Cool Front Arrives
A cool wave moving in from the north is expected to arrive by Saturday afternoon, bringing with it a much-needed break from humidity. The gusting winds, reaching speeds of up to 30 mph, are expected to create a pleasant, fall-like ambiance.
The change in temperature will be most noticeable in the evening. Following a warm day in the 90s, temperatures are expected to significantly drop into the pleasant 70s by evening, perfect for attending local football games. As the night progresses, temperatures will further plummet, reaching the low-60s by sunrise on Sunday.
Hill Country Feels The Chill
It is of particular note that the Hill Country region surrounding San Antonio could potentially see temperatures dipping into the 50s on Sunday morning. Despite the cool start, the temperature is expected to gradually climb into the upper-80s by Sunday afternoon. However, thanks to low humidity levels, the weather will remain enjoyable for residents to partake in outdoor activities.
Return of the Mugginess
A warning for residents not to stash away their summer gear just yet – the mugginess is set to return by Tuesday. Alongside this, a slight chance of rain is forecasted for Tuesday and Wednesday. The rain forecasts, however, are tied to a weak area of low pressure that is expected to drift around the Western Gulf of Mexico and the Bay of Campeche in the coming days.
Potential for Rain… Somewhere
While this low-pressure area comes with a small chance of developing into the next tropical depression, its only impact, as of now, will be rain – the location of which is still uncertain. Current predictions suggest that the rain will most likely manifest along or near the Gulf Coast next week. It’s however still early to make accurate predictions, given the erratic nature of the system.
As the city gears up to welcome this welcome shift in weather, remember to pull out those light sweaters and enjoy the autumn appetizer that’s on offer!
