The City of Cibolo in Texas will be buzzing with activities from March 22 as the officials invite residents to partake in the city’s initiative for a grand tidy-up
In Cibolo, a series of cleanup events are set to kick off on March 22 and span over two consecutive weekends. As a part of the initiative, bulk dumpsters will be placed in the City Hall parking lot from March 22 to March 24 and March 28 to March 30. The dumpsters will be made available to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on these days. City residents can make use of this facility to dispose of any household waste that is not required anymore.
The rules state that each resident will only be allowed to unload a maximum of two pickup truck loads or one 16-by-8-foot trailer. To verify residents’ identity, the city calls for a utility bill alongside a credible ID before the disposal process begins.
In addition to regular waste, the initiative also has a provision for the safe disposal of household hazardous waste. The disposal for such waste is scheduled to occur on March 23. Residents can dispose of hazardous household items that can include, but are not limited to, tires, paint, aerosol dispensers, varnish, and acetone.
On April 6, the City Hall parking lot will host setup for paper shredding, an effective measure to safely dispose of confidential papers. The same day will also witness the holding of Basura Bash, a community program that encourages residents to volunteer for a citywide litter clean-up event. The registration for Basura Bash opens at 7:30 a.m., and the clean-up activities will prevail from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Participants of the Basura Bash are advised to wear long pants, long-sleeved shirts, and closed-toe shoes for their safety. Besides this, more information regarding the cleanup days can be found here.
This spring cleanup initiative by the City of Cibolo is a much-appreciated effort toward promoting cleanliness and hygienic habits among its residents. By enabling easy disposal of both household and hazardous waste, the city aims to keep its surroundings cleaner and safer for its inhabitants. The response from the residents toward this program is anticipated to be affirmative, and the outcome can help illustrate the strong bond among the community members for a cleaner Cibolo.
