Cooler Mornings Ahead for San Antonio

Hey there, San Antonio! If you’ve been feeling stuck in a summer rut with all this heat, you’ll be happy to hear that we’re in for a bit of a change this week. After nearly a month of sizzling hot and dry weather, a weak cold front is expected to drift through our area, and while it may not make us shiver, it will bring much-needed relief in the form of cooler morning temperatures!

Monday: Summer-like Heat Continues

Let’s dive right into the forecast! As we kick off the week on Monday, October 7, it’s going to feel a lot more like July than October. Early birds can expect morning temperatures settling in the low 70s before the sun works its magic, pushing those numbers into the upper 80s by noon. And by the time we hit the mid-afternoon, we’ll be flirting with the mid-90s—definitely a scorcher!

Bright sunshine will dominate the sky, accompanied by some light northeast winds around 10 mph. Unfortunately, with that solid high-pressure system hanging around, there’s virtually no chance of rain in sight.

Tuesday: A Slight Dip in the Morning

Moving on to Tuesday, we’re looking at nearly a “copy and paste” forecast. However, there’s a little twist! Morning lows might dip slightly into the upper 60s between 6 and 8 a.m.—a small blessing for those of us longing for fall. Just like on Monday, temperatures will quickly rebound to the mid-90s in the afternoon. Fun fact: the record high for October 8 is also 95 degrees, set way back in 1962. So, keep your fingers crossed—we might just tie or even break that record!

Wednesday: Hello, Weak Cold Front!

Now, Wednesday rolls around, and *drumroll, please*—this is when that weak cold front begins its slow push into the area. While it’s not going to bring us any cold snaps, the front is set to drop the humidity levels, which means cooler, more comfortable mornings for the rest of the week.

Morning lows on Wednesday are expected to start around the mid-60s in the San Antonio metro area. Places further north like Austin, New Braunfels, and San Marcos might even see temperatures hit the sweet spot of around 60 degrees. Ah, now that sounds refreshing!

As for the afternoons, don’t get too excited—San Antonio is still expected to reach those low to mid-90s, but with a little less humidity in the air, it should feel a tad more bearable.

Thursday and Friday: More Fall-feeling Mornings

Moving into Thursday and Friday, our mornings will continue to be cozy, ranging from 63 to 65 degrees. Can you feel the fall vibes? High temperatures are expected to hover around the low to mid-90s again, just like before, under that lovely sunny sky we’ve come to know.

Storm Updates: Hurricane Milton

And while we’re enjoying our warm days here in Texas, let’s talk about something brewing in the Gulf of Mexico. Hurricane Milton, which developed over the weekend, is predicted to strengthen even further as it heads toward the west coast of Florida. While this might cause some intense weather conditions there—with potentially deadly storm surges and high winds—it is not expected to pose any threat to our beautiful Lone Star state.

Wrapping Up

In short, San Antonio, while summer doesn’t seem ready to give up just yet, we’re in for some cooler mornings ahead. So grab your light jacket for those chilly mornings, but don’t put the sunscreen away just yet! Stay hydrated, stay safe, and enjoy the fantastic fall weather vibes on the horizon!
