Residents of San Antonio have another reason to rejoice as the popular Japanese retailer, Daiso, announced their plans to open three more stores in the city by fall 2024. Known for their diverse product line ranging from home décor, Japanese food items, and various Sanrio products, Daiso continues to attract enthusiastic footfalls in the region.
Daiso Store Manager, Meilin Cedillo, stated that the current store in the city has been witnessing constant footfalls and is expected to continue in the coming months. She also mentioned that community support has significantly contributed to the store’s success.
The three upcoming locations for Daiso in San Antonio are expected to provide a more convenient shopping experience for residents in various parts of the city. The new stores will be located at Westover Marketplace at 8203 State Highway 151 on the far West Side, Valley View Shopping Center at 8521 Blanco Road, Suite 8523, and Thousand Oaks Shopping Center at 2939 Thousand Oaks Drive. While no exact dates for their grand openings have been announced, the stores’ operation hours are slated from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.
Area Store Manager David Schelnick expressed excitement about the expansion and the tremendous support from the community. “We have been getting great, great support from the community. We’re super excited”, he said.
Along with the expansion in San Antonio, Daiso is also planning to open two additional stores in Austin – one in South Austin and another in Pflugerville, as per the company’s press focus. This move indicates the Japanese retailer’s aggressive expansion plan in the state of Texas, banking on the robust support from the local communities
The upcoming Daiso stores in San Antonio are expected to provide locals and tourists alike with an expansive range of products in a unique Japanese shopping experience. This expansion move by Daiso also showcases the growing recognition and popularity of Japanese retailers in the American market.
