San Antonio, a city known for its rich history and vibrant culture, has a new face gracing its local airwaves. Say hello to Destany Fuller, the latest addition to the ever-growing team of talented reporters in our beloved city! Destany officially joined the news team here on September 9, and she quickly has become part of our San Antonio family.

From Oklahoma to Texas

Before moving to the Alamo City, Destany spent two years working as a reporter and weekend anchor at KSWO, an ABC-affiliate in Lawton, Oklahoma. Her passion for storytelling and connecting with her audience shines through every time she’s on screen. With a degree in Electronic Media from Texas State University, which she earned in 2021, it’s clear that her expertise will be a great asset to our local news scene.

Though she’s a proud native of Dallas Fort-Worth, Destany has visited San Antonio multiple times. She shares, “I’ve been to San Antonio several times, sometimes for little weekend trips with my family, and other times when I was in college looking for things to do off campus with my friends.” It’s amazing to see that she has already established a connection with the city before even moving here!

Discovering the Size of San Antonio

Perhaps what surprised Destany the most upon her arrival is just how large San Antonio truly is. “I didn’t realize that San Antonio was so BIG. On trips, we never ventured very far from the tourist areas,” she explained. However, now that she’s covering stories all over the city, she’s getting a new perspective and a chance to explore neighborhoods and areas that are rich in culture and diversity.

Destany is looking forward to delving deeper into the stories that make San Antonio unique. “I’m really excited to get to know this area and get to tell the stories of this area,” she said with enthusiasm. It sounds like she is ready to dive headfirst into all the fascinating aspects of our city!

One of the best parts of her transition is the warm welcome she’s received from the local community. “I’ve really enjoyed meeting new people and getting welcomed by so many friendly faces,” she shared. It’s great to hear that San Antonio’s reputation for hospitality is making her feel right at home!
