Celebrate Cultural Festivities at the Día de los Muertos Festival in San Antonio

Experience the 12th Annual Muertos Fest

San Antonio is gearing up for a vibrant celebration as the Día de los Muertos festival, also known as Muertos Fest, returns for its 12th year! This beloved event will take place at Hemisfair on October 26 and October 27, drawing thousands to honor and remember loved ones who have passed in a colorful and heartfelt way.

Event Details

The festival will kick off at 10 a.m. and wrap up at 11 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, and from noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday, October 27. Attendees can look forward to an exciting lineup that includes:

  • Live music performances
  • Original artwork displays
  • Dancing and cultural presentations
  • A spectacular drum and puppet procession
  • Live poetry readings
  • A large open altar exhibition

Special Broadcast

In a special treat for those who can’t attend in person, there will be a two-hour broadcast of the festivities on October 30 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. across various platforms, allowing everyone to participate in the celebrations from the comfort of their homes.

“San Antonio’s Día de los Muertos at Hemisfair is recognized nationwide — and for good reason,” expressed the city’s Mayor. “Our city knows how to embrace its rich cultural heritage in style, and Hemisfair is the perfect location. I am confident the 12th annual Día de los Muertos celebration will be the best yet!”

Parking and Transportation Tips

With over 100,000 attendees expected, parking might be a bit tricky. Event organizers suggest using rideshare services, biking, or even walking to the festival. For those who prefer to drive, several nearby parking options are available:

  • City Tower Garage – Located at 60 N Flores St. (Free parking on Sundays)
  • Convention Center Garage – Located at 41 S Bowie St.
  • Houston/Nolan Lot – Under the Interstate 37 underpass at Houston and Elm
  • Houston Street Garage – 111 College St.
  • Martinez Parking Lot – S. Alamo and Martinez Streets
  • S Alamo St. – 418 S Alamo
