Believe it or not, DreamWeek was just an idea back in the ’90s. It all started with Shokare “Sho” Nakpodia, a Nigerian immigrant who drove a taxi in New York City. Inspired by the desire to give back to the community, he envisioned a platform for open dialogue and exchange of ideas. Fast forward to 2013, and the first DreamWeek came to life, breathing fresh air into Dr. King’s vision of inclusivity and equity.

This year’s festivities promise an exhilarating lineup, featuring a whopping 17 days packed with activities. From panels and symposiums to film screenings and art shows, there’s something for everyone. DreamWeek has grown tremendously since its inception, hosting over 1,000 events and partnering with countless local organizations over the years.
