Attempted Assassination of Former President Trump Revealed in Bodycam Footage

In a shocking turn of events, police in Butler, Pennsylvania, have released harrowing bodycam footage depicting a lethally planned attack on former President Trump. The footage was filmed during the fateful day when Thomas Matthew Crooks, a resident of Butler, Pennsylvania, made an attempt to assassinate Trump while he was addressing a rally held in the area.

A Plan Gone Awry

Caught on tape, the newly surfaced police footage portrays two Butler Township patrol officers’ desperate efforts to avert a fatal intent seconds before Crooks fired his firearm. However, things took a drastic turn when Crooks swung around to aim his DPMS AR-15 rifle at one of the hoisted officers, forcing him to lose his grip and fall around 8 feet to the ground, which resulted in an ankle sprain.

Despite the pandemonium, quick-witted officers on the ground zeroed in and fatally wounded Crooks, neutralizing the risk. Unfortunately, the frenzy was not devoid of casualties. Crooks’ gunfire struck Trump in the ear and claimed the life of Corey Comperatore while also injuring two others.

Caught On Camera

The police camera footage clearly shows an officer courageously scaling a 12-foot high building, trying to reach the roof where Crooks was stationed, only to be accosted by the armed culprit.

The video also features moments of confusion among the officers about why the roof was unprotected. Speculation and frustration filled the atmosphere as the law enforcement officers attempted to piece together the timeline of events that led to the failed assignation.

Digital Reconnaissance

Earlier that day, Crooks used a drone to scope out the area around the campaign rally site. Approximately 200 yards from the scene was where the former President was scheduled to deliver his address. The FBI, however, confirmed that the aerial surveillance left no photographic or video evidence.

Moments before the Shooting

Police records indicate that Crooks was first spotted by local law enforcement officers around 5:10 p.m., just 50 minutes before Trump took the stage. His behavior was deemed suspicious, and a photograph of him was sent to the commanding officers for inspection.

With no bullish action taken against the suspicious Crooks, he had a clear opportunity to station himself on the roof of a nearby building and make his assassination attempt at approximately 6:12 p.m. Unfortunately, this attack claimed one life and injured former President Trump and two other attendees.

Post Incident Analysis of the Failed Assassination Attempt

The police bodycam footage has served as a crucial piece of evidence in understanding the chronology of the failed assassination attempt by Crooks. As various agencies scramble to determine accountability, this glimpse into the events of the rally has shed light on measures that could have potentially averted the tragic incident.
