San Antonio Sets the Stage for Fiesta 2025: A 11-Day Celebration!

Get ready, everyone! The vibrant city of San Antonio has kicked off the much-awaited Fiesta 2025, and it’s already shaping up to be an unforgettable experience! The celebration commenced on Thursday, April 24, and is set to run until Sunday, May 4. Expect thousands of attendees flocking to downtown San Antonio for an electrifying series of events, parades, and activities that truly showcase the spirit of this incredible city.

Traffic Tips for Fiesta Goers

As you gear up for the fun, it’s essential to keep in mind that this 11-day fiesta will create some traffic challenges. With road closures, bustling pedestrians, and various detours, navigating the downtown area might be a little tricky. Remember to plan ahead!

One of the main highlights of the Fiesta is the dazzling Battle of Flowers Parade and the enchanting Fiesta Flambeau Parade. Both of these major events typically attract tens of thousands of eager spectators and participants every year. For those planning to watch the parades, the routes will stay familiar, starting on North Main Street near San Antonio College.

Familiar Parade Route

The parade will wind its way through some beloved streets of San Antonio, making its way along Lexington Avenue, North St Mary’s Street, Brooklyn Avenue, Avenue E, Houston Street, Alamo Plaza, Commerce Street, and Santa Rosa, finally ending near West Martin Street. So mark your calendars!

Exciting Events To Look Forward To

There are numerous attractions throughout the Fiesta, including the legendary Noche de Fiesta which is expected from Tuesday, April 29 to Friday, May 2. While you can still access NIOSA via Alamo Street, note that the sidewalk between East Cesar Chavez and North Nueva Street will be closed due to construction, but not to worry; plenty of fun awaits!

Don’t miss the Fiesta De Los Reyes which runs from Friday, April 25 through Sunday, May 4 at the bustling Market Square. Various street closures are anticipated around Market Square, particularly affecting parts of North Santa Rosa, North San Saba, and West Commerce. Keep in mind that Commerce Street at Santa Rosa will also remain closed through May 4.

Festivities in Full Swing

The excitement continues on Saturday, May 3, when the King William Fair takes place, starting with a vibrant parade at 9 a.m. and activities throughout the day until 6 p.m. However, be prepared as construction will cause some street closures in the residential areas during this event.

Parking and Transportation

If you’re concerned about parking, don’t fret! Free parking is available on Sundays through the City Tower Sundays program at the City Tower Garage, located at 117 W. Commerce. However, the free parking program on Tuesdays will be temporarily suspended on April 29, so plan accordingly. City officials suggest using ride shares, VIA Park & Ride, and other alternative transportation to navigate the city without hassle.

Live Performances Galore!

There will be plenty of live music and performances throughout the Fiesta, including exciting events at Fiesta De Los Reyes and the festive Fiesta Oyster Bake on April 25 and 26 at St. Mary’s University. With general admission priced at $30 and kids under 12 entering for free, it’s a fantastic family outing!

Last but definitely not least, check out the La Semana Alegre festival from May 1 to 2, featuring an array of musical acts! And remember, Fiesta encompasses various events like A Night in Old San Antonio (NIOSA), Texas Cavaliers River Parade, Cornyation, and Day in Old Mexico.
