San Antonio Gets Ready for Fiesta 2025 with Exciting Plans!

As the beautiful city of San Antonio gears up for the much-anticipated Fiesta, the buzz is in the air! Scheduled to run from April 24 to May 4, 2025, this beloved festival promises to enchant locals and visitors with its lively events celebrating our rich cultural history. With over 100 events on the roster, including parades, live music, and transformed city streets, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

Street Closures to Accommodate Festival Fun

However, with excitement comes a little bit of preparation. The San Antonio City Council has approved various street closures to ensure that Fiesta runs smoothly. Starting on April 21 at noon, San Saba Street will be closed between Dolorosa and West Houston streets until May 5 at 5 p.m.. Commerce Street will also see closures in the same area for the same duration. If you’re headed downtown for the festivities, make sure to plan your route carefully!

But wait, there’s more! Get ready for the UTSA Fiesta Arts Fair, happening near the Central Library. To accommodate this vibrant celebration of creativity, additional closures will take place from April 23 at 6 p.m. until April 25 at 6 a.m..

Prepare for the Battle of Flowers Parade

The much-loved Battle of Flowers Parade, set to occur on April 26, 2024, is another high point of Fiesta! Streets around St. Mary’s University will close from April 25 at 3:30 p.m. until April 26 at 11 p.m. Additionally, Presa Street will be closed from Market to Nueva streets during this period and will remain closed until May 4 at 9 p.m.. Another closure will include Nueva Street, which will be restricted from South Alamo Street to west of South Presa Street.

For those who plan to cruise down Presa Street, get ready for a change! From April 29 to May 2, it will be one-way southbound between Nueva and Arciniega streets from 4 p.m. to midnight. And mark your calendars for April 27 when Beal Street will shut down from 7 a.m. to midnight between West Elsmere Place and Fulton Avenue!

Keeping Everyone Safe

Safety is key during the festivities, and the San Antonio Police Department is making sure everyone has an enjoyable and secure experience. In response to an incident from last year, enhanced security measures will be put into place for the Fiesta de los Reyes. Eight mighty heavy-duty barriers will block vehicular access to crowded areas, ensuring a safe environment for all!

Fiesta Events Await!

Fiesta is not just about parades; it’s a melting pot of delicious food, artistic flair, and cultural performances. Traditional food events will showcase diverse regional cuisines and culinary competitions that will tantalize everyone’s taste buds. Who can resist the vibrant flavors of San Antonio?

Fiesta began back in 1891, honoring the heroes of the Alamo, and since then, it has blossomed into a colorful never-ending celebration of our dynamic community and diverse culture. Don’t miss out on iconic events such as the Battle of Flowers Parade and the Fiesta Flambeau Parade!

So, get your fiesta spirit ready! Take note of the street closures, plan your gatherings with family and friends, and prepare to indulge in all the wonders San Antonio has to offer during this extraordinary festival!
