Saturday, April 26: A Day Packed with Action

The festivities kick off on Saturday, April 26, with a jam-packed day of sporting events beginning with the Fiesta Women & Co-Ed Soccer Tournament. Kicking things off at 8 a.m. and running until 7 p.m. at the Star Soccer Complex, this tournament is not only the 47th annual event organized by the Women’s Soccer Association of San Antonio, but it also features food trucks and a playground to keep the kids entertained. Best of all, admission is free, but don’t forget to bring a chair to sit back and enjoy the matches!

While soccer players are battling it out on the field, why not lace up your shoes for the OLLU Confetti 5K Run/Walk? Starting at the Our Lady of the Lake University Main Building at 9 a.m., you can join over 800 participants in this colorful run, which promises a sprinkle of over 300 pounds of confetti. And for those little ones itching to get in on the fun, the Kids Fun Run begins at 8:30 a.m.!

Also taking place on this lively Saturday is the Alpha Pi Zeta Fiesta Track Meet at Sam Houston High School, running from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.. This exciting track event has been a Fiesta staple since 1984 and, just like the soccer tournament, is also free to attend!

For those looking to support a great cause, head over to the Walk For Autism held at Palo Alto College from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.. This lovely event promotes autism awareness and is perfect for families wanting to make a difference while enjoying the day.

As the afternoon rolls in, get ready for some classy fun at the Fiesta Kings Cup Polo Party from noon to 4 p.m. at the San Antonio Polo Club. With polo matches and the charming Fiesta Royal Court in attendance, tickets are priced at $200 per person or $1500 for a table of eight. This is one party you won’t want to miss!

Sunday, April 27: Keep the Momentum Going

Fiesta Women & Co-Ed Soccer Tournament at the Star Soccer Complex from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.. But the true highlight of the day is the Mission Reach Flotilla Fest, the official kayak event of Fiesta, happening from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Acequia Park. This fun-filled day features activities like fishing clinics and kayaking, plus a contest for the best kayak and bicycle decorations. Bring your appetite, as there will be live music and food vendors on hand, all for free!

First Week of May: More Fitness Fun

As we roll into May, fitness enthusiasts can mark their calendars for the First Tee Invitational on Thursday, May 1, starting bright and early at 8 a.m. at Canyon Springs Golf Club. Ticket prices of $800 for a team of four promise a chance for the top four teams to take home prizes!

The Fiesta Clay Target Shoot will also be taking place that day, supporting the Military Order of the Purple Heart, with a $500 entry fee for a team of four.

Later that week, Saturday, May 3, features the Run To Remember event from 7:30 a.m. to noon at Comanche Park, which benefits the Alzheimer’s Association. This event includes a 5K/walk, kids’ .5K run, and even a .5K beer run—fun for all! Plus, the Starfish Dash 5K Run/Walk & Health Fair at UT Health San Antonio boasts free health services like blood pressure testing, running from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m..

Last, but certainly not least, dive into the fun at the Fiesta de los Spurs 5K Run at 6:30 p.m. on the same Saturday, right before the spectacular Fiesta Flambeau Parade, which will be an electrifying way to end the day!
