In the early hours of Thursday morning on Northeast Side, a woman was hospitalized after being rescued from a raging house fire. San Antonio Fire Department (SAFD) crews raced to an emergency call just before 8:00 a.m. in the 5100 block of Prince Valiant Drive, in close proximity to both Loop 410 and Eisenhauer Road.
Upon arrival, the responding firefighters found an older woman trapped inside the flame-engulfed building. Displaying remarkable bravery and quick action, they successfully brought her to safety and extinguished the fire. The victim was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries, as reported by SAFD.
Currently, the cause of the fire remains unknown and is under active investigation by relevant authorities. Meanwhile, the house where the incident occurred has tragically been declared a total loss.
The prompt action to the distress call saw different units of the San Antonio Fire Department, San Antonio Police Department, and EMS all converge rapidly on the scene. As per the San Antonio Fire Department’s records, a significant team of up to 18 fire units was mobilized in response to the incident.
