Residents in San Antonio are preparing for an annual clean sweep, thanks to the announcement of the Free Landfill Day organized by The San Antonio Solid Waste Management Department. This much-needed event, slated for Saturday, July 13th, will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at selected locations in the city.
With summer reaching its peak, the city of San Antonio recognizes the need to support residents in their cleaning efforts. The Free Landfill Day aims to offer residents a chance to get rid of bulky items cluttering their homes without incurring any disposal costs. Whether it’s that broken furniture taking up valuable space in your garage, or unnecessary items clogging your basement, this unprecedented move gives residents the freedom to declutter and dispose responsibly.
To partake in this initiative, residents must bring a valid photo ID along with a recent copy of their CPS Energy bill confirming proof of payment. The bill should be the most recent one to affirm the resident’s current address and status of account.
While this free disposal day is a great opportunity for residents to clean out unwanted items, it’s important to note that not all materials will be accepted at the disposal sites. The San Antonio Solid Waste Management Department is urging residents to acquaint themselves with the list of acceptable and non-acceptable items in advance to avoid unnecessary hitches during the day.
There will be three different locations where residents can drop off their unwanted items on Free Landfill Day. Locations include:
*Note: The Waste Management Landfill location will only be accepting specific types of waste. Please check in advance before taking your items to this location.
San Antonio’s Free Landfill Day presents an excellent opportunity for residents to dispose of unwanted items responsibly, helping not only to clean their homes but also contribute to the city’s cleanliness.
