Frost Bank Backs The Orchestra San Antonio With $2 Million Gift

In a significant boost for art and education in San Antonio, Frost Bank unveiled a commitment of $2 million to The Orchestra San Antonio (TOSA) on Wednesday. Bill Day, the senior vice president for communications at Frost Bank, said the donation is the outcome of deep thought and aligns with their long-standing support for the arts and education in San Antonio.

“We believe in making people’s lives better, and this gift with The Orchestra San Antonio unquestionably contributes to that. Not only will it facilitate breathtaking performances of classical and operatic music for San Antonio, but the model via which The Orchestra San Antonio and its education efforts, particularly for young people, is extremely significant to us.” Day asserted.

Blending Education and Entertainment With Music

Founded with a focus on accessibility and education initiative, TOSA and its parent organization, Classical Music San Antonio (CMI), are dedicated to enlightening young individuals about the history and importance of classical music.

This initiative made an impact on Frost Bank’s decision to assist. Day elaborates that such musical endeavors keep children engaged, develop their critical thinking skills, and are often tied to successful trajectories in fields like medicine and business.

Incremental Growth Strategy

Rather than being distributed all at once, Frost Bank’s $2 million contribution will be gradually disbursed to TOSA. This cautiously optimistic strategy aligns with TOSA’s plan to progressively build its financial resources. The CEO of TOSA, Paul Montalvo, explained in April that they are “starting small and then looking to grow.” This slow and steady approach reflects in their goal to increase their present budget of $2.1 million to approx $6-7 million by 2030-32.
