San Antonio, – The city of San Antonio is abuzz with the exciting news that its very own country music legend, George Strait, is set to take the stage at the upcoming Patriot Awards Gala in October.
Strait, the beloved King of Country, will be returning to his hometown to perform at the Alamo City’s high-profile military event on October 3. This performance will be Strait’s first in the Lone Star State since his record-breaking concert at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field earlier this year.
The Patriot Awards Gala is hosted as part of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society Convention, an annual gathering which brings together the esteemed Medal of Honor recipients and their families. This year will mark the first time the convention is held in San Antonio, popularly known as Military City U.S.A., from September 29 through October 5.
Joining Strait in the lineup of stars are actor Gary Sinise, set to act as Master of Ceremonies, and celebrity chef Robert Irvine, who will be overseeing the culinary aspect of the event. Notable attendees include martial artist and actor Chuck Norris, who will receive the Bob Hope Award for Entertainment, an honor previously bestowed upon Strait in 2019.
The high-profile gala will be held in the Henry B. González Convention Center’s Stars at Night Ballroom, and is open to the public. However, those wishing to attend and enjoy Strait’s performance will need to invest a hefty sum. Individual tickets for the gala are priced at $500 while table sponsorship packages start from $5,000 for a table of ten, reaching up to $75,000.
The high-point of the evening will be the awarding of the Patriot Award, considered the most prestigious recognition of the evening. This year’s recipients are the Gene and Jerry Jones family, co-owners of the Dallas Cowboys. Other awardees include prominent San Antonio resident Richard “Tres” Kleberg III, Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum, and actor Taylor Kitsch, best recognized for his role in the 2013 Navy Seal action drama ‘Lone Survivor’.
The Patriot Awards Gala upholds the tradition of honoring those who have made significant contributions to society. With George “The King of Country” Strait’s performance, the gala will undoubtedly reach new heights. In anticipation of the event, locals and guests can register for attendance and select their preferred sponsorship level via the convention website.
