Halftime Pizza in San Antonio Closes One Location Amid Economic Challenges

San Antonio, TX – The beloved local pizzeria, Halftime Pizza, has announced the unfortunate closure of one of its two locations in San Antonio. The spot, which has been a popular hub for pizza lovers since its inception, has struggled with the economic downturn and has been grappling with challenges that have proven too great to overcome.

Closing Announced on Social Media

In July, Halftime Pizza made a public appeal on social media amid trouble, seeking support from its loyal customers. Following that, two months later, the company delivered yet another announcement on its social media platforms, revealing the imminent closure of one of its locations.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of Halftime Pizza Bandera, effective September 23, 2024. Despite our hopes that football season would bring a turnaround, we can no longer sustain the economic challenges,” Read the Facebook post by the restaurant owners. They further informed that the last day of business for the Bandera location will be Sunday, September 22.

Remaining Location to Keep Fighting

Presently, Halftime Pizza operates in two locations that are roughly 10 minutes apart from each other on the city’s Northwest Side. In the same announcement, the corporation clarified its intentions for the surviving location on Tezel Road.

“The original Halftime Pizza Tezel will remain open, continuing to fight to stay in business,” reassured Halftime Pizza. This year, the Tezel location of the restaurant marked its 10-year anniversary. Its Bandera location, closing soon, has been serving avid pizza lovers since 2016.

Bitter-sweet Goodbye

Expressing their regrets, the pizza shop owners invite everyone to visit the Bandera location during its final days. They insisted, “We encourage you to visit us in these final days. While the menu will be limited, we will serve as long as supplies last.” The address of the closing location is 7531 Bandera Road, Suite 104, San Antonio, TX 78238.

As San Antonio bids a sad farewell to a favorite local pizza place, pizza lovers across the city are hopeful for the Tezel location’s continued success.
