Woman Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in H-E-B Parking Lot

SAN ANTONIO, TX – HIT-AND-RUN INCIDENT IN H-E-B PARKING LOT, FEMALE VICTIM STRUCK

In yet another disturbing case of hit-and-run, a woman was struck by a motor vehicle in the parking lot of H-E-B, a popular grocery store located on the Northwest side of San Antonio.

Details about the Incident

The incident occurred on Friday night at about 8:30 P.M. at H-E-B’s parking lot situated at 5910 Babcock Rd. According to official sources from the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), the victim was a 29-year-old woman who was hit by a white Lexus as she was crossing the parking lot.

The driver in question, rather than stopping to provide aid to the injured pedestrian, chose to leave the scene abruptly. The injured woman sustained minor injuries from the accident, but she declined the medical assistance offered by the Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

SAPD Investigation and Legal Consequences

The San Antonio Police Department is diligently following the incident and is on the lookout for the driver of the aforementioned white Lexus. The action of fleeing the accident scene without providing necessary aid to the victim not only presents a gross violation of human decency, but also constitutes a legal offense.

In the state of Texas, the law requires any driver involved in an accident that results in injury to others to stop their vehicle immediately at or near the collision scene, provide their details and render reasonable assistance, including transporting the person to a hospital if it is apparent that medical treatment is necessary or if such transportation is requested by the injured person. Failure to abide buy these requirements can lead to serious misdemeanor charges.

In this case, the driver will be facing charges for Failure to Stop and Render Aid, a misdemeanor in Texas. If convicted, the driver might face penalties including fines and/or jail time depending on the severity of the victim’s injuries and aims to serve as a deterrent for any future incidents.

How the Public Can Help

The San Antonio Police Department is urging anyone with information regarding the hit-and-run to come forward. Any information leading to the identification and arrest of the driver will be valuable in ensuring justice is served. Interested persons can reach out to the SAPD’s non-emergency number at (210) 207-SAPD (7273).

As an alert and responsible public, we can contribute significantly to the prevention and resolution of such incidents that not only threaten the safety of our streets but also the moral fabric of our society. It’s time we put our foot down against such heinous acts of irresponsibility and help bring the perpetrators to justice.
