In an unfortunate incident on the Southwest side, a residential fire broke out in the early hours of the morning, causing an estimated damage close to $75,000. The San Antonio fire investigators are untangling its cause.
The fire alarm rang at about 2 a.m. indicating a potential fire in a house located within the 200th block of McLaughlin Avenue, nestled between Southwest Military Drive and New Laredo Highway. The fire personnel arrived on scene to witness a house engulfed in thick smoke and aggressive flames. Without any hitches, the team quenched the fire quickly.
According to the fire department, the homeowner’s son was assigned the duty of watching over the house in the preceding days. However, the house stood empty at the time of the fire. The incident did not claim any injuries. The cause of the fire still remains a mystery and the fire investigative team is deeply involved in unearthing the exact cause of the eruption.
Both the San Antonio Fire Department and the San Antonio Police Department responded to the early morning distress call. The damage estimate amounts to near about $75,000, a substantial loss to the property.
While an investigation is underway, no determinative cause can be assigned to the fire as of now. With the evidence available, the fire investigation team is tirelessly working towards identifying the exact circumstances leading to the mishap.
