SAN ANTONIO – The busy intersection of I-35 and Loop 1604 is set to be closed for several days in July, causing possible traffic disruptions. This closure, scheduled for July 19-22, is part of continuous efforts to install elevated lanes along I-35.

The Closure Details

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced that the closure will be necessary for the installation of steel girders. During this closure period, both the westbound and eastbound collector ramps of Loop 1604 at I-35 will not be accessible to traffic.

Furthermore, the connector ramp from southbound I-35 to eastbound Loop 1604 along with the ramp from northbound I-35 to westbound Loop 1604 will also be closed.

Traffic Diversion and Timing

While these closures are in place, traffic will be detoured around the intersection via the frontage roads. The TxDOT has planned the closure timings to minimize disruptions to peak traffic hours. The closure will begin on July 19 at 9 p.m. and end on July 22 at 5 a.m.
