San Antonio is buzzing with excitement as it prepares for the much-anticipated Icehouse Week 2025, a delightful celebration of local icehouses, breweries, and the incredible offerings our vibrant community has to share. This year’s event is set to be bigger and better than ever, stretching over an impressive 16 days from February 6 to February 22.
With at least a dozen participating locations already on board, the number is expected to grow as the fortunate Saturday launch day approaches. And if you love outdoor gatherings, you’re in for a treat; forecasts promise moderate temperatures and sunny skies, creating the perfect atmosphere for enjoying cold brews and good company.
Icehouse Week was established back in 2021 by enthusiasts Jody Newman and Kent Oliver as a way to bolster local businesses and honor cherished traditions. This year, the primary sponsor is a new beer brand called Texas Special, proudly supporting local enterprises like Kiolbassa Smoked Meats and Local Culture Creative Marketing.
This upcoming Saturday promises an extra special treat at The Friendly Spot, which will host a lively “Beer Break” showcasing samples from a staggering 20 breweries. Attendees can also indulge in tastings of fine tequila and, of course, the mouthwatering flavors of Kiolbassa smoked meats. Yum!
If you’re wondering where the fun is happening, look no further! Other participating venues include popular spots like Bruno’s Dive Bar, Burgerteca, La Tuna, Ladybird Beer Garden, Louie’s Icehouse, and Texas Star Inn. Each venue will offer unique specials, providing a chance to mix things up and try something new at every stop.
To keep everyone informed and engaged, an official Icehouse Week website will be continuously updated with news and specials. Participating businesses are also encouraged to share the latest on social media, ensuring you don’t miss any opportunities to enjoy this local celebration.
In this tech-forward age, Icehouse Week has embraced innovation with an official app that’s ready for download! This handy tool allows you to track your visits to participating businesses while entering a chance to win prizes worth up to an amazing $500. Talk about a fun way to enjoy the festivities while supporting local entrepreneurs!
Icehouse Week holds a special significance this year, especially for small businesses that faced unprecedented challenges during the pandemic. It’s a time to come together and celebrate the excellent offerings that our community has to offer while fostering connections and supporting one another.
So gather your friends and family, mark your calendars, and get ready to hop from icehouse to brewery over the next two weeks! Icehouse Week is not just about beer; it’s about community, tradition, and the spirit of San Antonio. Let’s raise our glasses, support local businesses, and make unforgettable memories during this fantastic event!
