In a recent decision, the Judson Independent School District (ISD) Board of Trustees has shown their appreciation for the dedication of their staff by approving a 1% pay raise. This increase will specifically benefit teachers, librarians, counselors, and nurses employed by the district.
According to the board’s decision, all other staff, aside from those mentioned previously, can anticipate a $500 one-time incentive payment which will be disbursed in December. This gesture serves as a token of gratitude towards the employees’ commitment to the students and their unwavering hard work throughout the year.
“We are grateful for the unwavering dedication of our teachers, librarians, counselors, nurses, and all support staff,” said Superintendent Dr. Fields. “Their efforts are integral to creating a nurturing and effective learning environment for our students. This increase and incentive pay are small tokens of our immense appreciation for their hard work and commitment.”
The pay increase agreed upon by the Judson ISD Board of Trustees falls in line with the trends of other districts. For example, the San Antonio Independent School District recently approved a 2% pay increase for all full-time permanent employees. On the other hand, the North East Independent School District approved a one-time retention supplement of 1.5% for the first semester of the 2024-25 school year.
These pay increases and incentive payments are a testament to the dedication that the districts have towards their staff’s welfare and the quality of education they provide. It’s a reminder that every role, from the teacher in the classroom to the support staff behind the scenes, contributes to the overall success and progression of the students and the district.
