San Antonio’s Loop 410 Reopens After Accident, Driver Sustains Severe Injuries

San Antonio, Texas – Major traffic lanes on the East Side’s Loop 410 resumed normal operations after an accident prompted lengthy closures early Wednesday. The involved driver was hurried to the hospital with injuries believed to be life-threatening.

The Morning Traffic Debacle

The northbound lanes of Loop 410 near the Interstate 10 interchange witnessed disruption after a mishap in the early morning hours of Wednesday. Traffic control cameras at the scene captured images of vehicles being rerouted off the freeway onto East Houston Street, as emergency teams managed the incident scene around 5:30 a.m.

The Fateful Collision

The crash occurred along Loop 410 near the exit at East Houston Street. Preliminary details from the police at the scene indicate that an automobile had come to a full stop in the middle of the route and was subsequently hit by a semi-truck. The female occupant of the car, presumed to be in her 20s, became unresponsive after being extricated from her vehicle. She was then rushed to a nearby medical facility with severe injuries, as per the police statement.

Follow-up Measures Post-Accident

The truck operator was helpful to the authorities; it was later stated that the driver had also been transported to the hospital. The resultant fuel leak from the crash led to the strategic measure by the authorities of a temporary highway closure. Engorged traffic extended for miles as far as Rigsby Avenue and South WW White; the congestion started easing around 9:15 a.m.

Current Highway Status

Access to the San Antonio lanes is now unobstructed post the incident. San Antonio motorists are urged to remain cautious and adhere to traffic rules to prevent such occurrences.
