Starting Monday, the city will begin paving Broadway for the final time, bringing us closer to the end of this much-needed improvement.

Final Touches on the Paving

According to the city’s Public Works Department, paving activities will kick off at the intersection of Broadway and Roy Smith Street and will proceed in small sections of three to four blocks at a time. The goal is to cover all the way south towards Houston Street.

While paving happens, these small sections of Broadway will be closed, with each section taking about three days to complete. So, if you’re planning to drive in this area, be sure to follow the detour signs redirecting traffic to North Alamo Street and Avenue B. But don’t worry—all businesses along Broadway will remain open during the construction, so you can still grab your favorite coffee or lunch while the roads get a facelift.

Once the paving is done, the city has a few more finishing touches planned.
