A man has been apprehended in connection to the death of a woman, Stacey Dramiga, whose lifeless body was uncovered on Monday at an East Side park in San Antonio. Deputies from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office gave confirmation yesterday that the suspect, Marco Flores, 38, was charged with evading arrest and detention.
It was reported that Flores was familiar with intimate details of the deceased’s condition – details that were not yet publicly available. Upon his discovery in the general vicinity where authorities were conducting investigations, he was interrogated by deputies who thereafter decided to momentarily detain him. However, Flores eluded the deputies and fled the scene, an act that led to his ultimate arrest.
Flores was put into the Bexar County Jail after his arrest, but he did not provide any additional information related to the case. The Sheriff’s Office is yet to release more details surrounding the incident or about Flores himself.
Stacey Dramiga’s body was found along a trail in a well-forested area near Dafoste Park, located on the 100 block of Dafoste Avenue. Preceding her tragic death, it seemed that Dramiga went for her regular walk on Sunday morning at Covington Park, which was approximately three miles from where her body was discovered. Her car was found locked at Covington Park, near the 2600 block of Rigsby Avenue.
The Sheriff of Bexar County, Javier Salazar, declared her death a homicide, stating that investigators are tirelessly working to track down her killer. He also disclosed that her death did not appear to be accidental or emanate from a fall. An autopsy report revealed that Dramiga died from “blunt force, penetrating trauma of the head”.
A representative from Brooke Army Medical Center announced on Wednesday morning that Dramiga served at the military institution as the director of the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation center.
Any individual with helpful information regarding this case is encouraged to make contact with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office at 210-335-6000.
