Man Stabbed Four Times During Robbery on Far Southwest Side, San Antonio – Police Report

A Heinous Crime on Quiet Streets

A 33-year-old man fell victim to a vicious assault in the wee hours of Thursday morning on the far southwest side of San Antonio, according to police sources. The victim was reportedly stabbed four times during an attempted robbery. The incident, shattering the otherwise tranquil morning, occurred around 2 a.m. in the 9300 block of Somerset Road, a street shared by the New Laredo Highway and Interstate 35.

Set-Up and Betrayal

According to San Antonio police, the fatal series of events unraveled when the victim was picked up by his soon-to-be assailants. The men then drove to a secluded, poorly lit vicinity of Somerset Road under the guise of a flat tire. The unsuspecting victim found himself at the mercy of his captors as they attempted to rob him. When the man tried to resist, he was brutally stabbed, not once or twice, but four times.

Call for Help

In a bid to save his life, the gravely injured victim managed to walk to a nearby apartment complex, from where he made a desperate call for help. Meanwhile, his remorseless assailants fled the scene. Their whereabouts remain unknown as of this update. The police are yet to provide details on why the man was initially picked up, whether he knew the suspects, or what items might have been stolen during the robbery.

The Aftermath and Investigation

The response from the city’s emergency departments was immediate with the San Antonio Police Department, San Antonio Fire Department, and the city’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) all reaching the call site at the earliest. As the victim was rushed to the hospital, the police started their investigation, trying to piece together the crime scene and the possible motives behind the attack.

Unanswered Questions

While the police continue their search for the suspects, a cloud of unanswered questions loom. Who were the assailants? Did the victim know his attackers? What were the items stolen from the victim? Until these questions are answered, there might not be closure for the victim and those directly affected by the crime. The investigation into this heinous act is ongoing.
