San Antonio– Ming Qian von Bargen, the owner of the popular eatery Ming’s Thing, demonstrated her knack for expansion as she recently launched a second location in the heart of North San Antonio. Situated near the bustling vicinity of The Shops at La Cantera and Six Flags Fiesta Texas, this new restaurant has already started making waves among local food enthusiasts since its grand opening on April 9 this year.
Ming’s foray into the restaurant business started in 2011 when she introduced her unique offerings of steamed bao buns at the Quarry Farmer’s Market. The venture soon received overwhelming reception and eventually grew, paving its way toward a permanent spot at the Pearl Farmers Market. This unflagging success was followed by the establishment of the first brick-and-mortar eatery, Ming’s Noodle Bar, highlighting her innovative take on traditional Asian cuisine.
Building on the success of the Noodle Bar, the first Ming’s Thing opened its doors in San Antonio’s midtown area near San Antonio College in 2020. Ever since, it has been attracting a steady flow of avid customers, encouraging Ming to branch out and reach a larger audience by opening a second location.
The new eatery shares the signature dishes that made Ming’s Thing a local favorite, with steamed bao buns taking center stage in their menu. Customers can also find a variety of palate-teasing options including lemon chicken rice bowls, delectable tofu and broccoli rice bowls, warming hot and chilled noodle bowls, and small bites such as seasoned shrimp dumplings, crispy cauliflower wings, and flavorful shiitake mushroom dumplings.
In a break from tradition, Ming’s Thing consists of Jujube at Ming’s, a full-fledged bar concept, something the first Ming’s Thing location did not offer. Customers can unwind and enjoy craft cocktails and sake specials handcrafted by skilled bartenders.
In response to the evolving needs of customers, both Ming’s Thing locations have incorporated online food ordering service, making it simple for customers to place their orders for pickup. It’s a convenient feature for those craving delicious Asian cuisine at home or planning to enjoy it in the multiple parks dotting North San Antonio.
The new Ming’s Thing restaurant is located at 17022 Fiesta Texas Drive, San Antonio. For more information about their offerings or to place an order, you can visit their official website at www.mingsthing.com or give them a call at 210-277-0729.
