Casa Catrina, a Dia De Los Muertos-themed restaurant, is set to replace The Fig Tree at La Villita. According to social media updates, the eatery promises to serve authentic, unique, and shareable Mexican dishes, adding a new dimension to the city’s food landscape.
Hash Kitchen, an Arizona-based chain known for its lavish breakfast and brunch spread and cocktail offerings, will extend its footprint into San Antonio this year. With two locations planned at 5534 N. 1604 West and 4108 Broadway, the city’s residents will soon get to experience the chain’s popular Bloody Mary bars with 50 topping options.
La Panadería, a San Antonio brunch and pastry chain, is all set to greet food enthusiasts at its new locations at Stone Oak, the Broadway corridor in the former Fratello’s space, and inside the La Cantera Shopping Center. With an impressive array of baked goods, this is one expansion that will certainly sweeten the local culinary scene.
Renowned for its espresso-based drinks, hot and cold-brewed coffee, and pastries, Scooter’s Coffee is set to open a new location near Ft. Sam Houston on April 5. This spot is all set to become the new favorite haunt of coffee lovers.
Also expanding is Wayne’s Wings, which plans to open a third location on the West Side, offering its delectable, trademark wings in the same business strip as Rios Barbacoa and a Papa John’s Pizza.
In a collaboration between local restaurant groups Suck It and Sari-Sari, a new concept titled Suck It Asian Fusion & Boba will open to the public in April or May. The restaurant will offer a medley of Asian cuisine elements that include Japanese, Thai and Filipino.
Mr. Juicy, a local burger joint owned by Andrew Weissman, will open a new outpost in the Castle Hills area by June this year. This spot is set to become a favorite for those who love their burgers juicy and flavorful.
Neon Moon, a new spot taking over the former Squeezebox space, will offer an array of beers and classic cocktails while featuring a mixed bag of nu metal, country, and rock along with karaoke. The new bar aims to add a new vibrancy to the San Antonio nightlife.
Rounding off the list is The Lion & Rose British restaurant and pub, which will return to San Antonio’s dining and pub scene in the coming months, offering British classics such as bangers and mash at their new location in the Dominion area.
