San Antonio is primed to host the second opening of the Arizona-based Postino WineCafé later this spring. Its representatives revealed a plan for a new 5,529-square-foot establishment near Brackenridge Park in North San Antonio.
Postino takes pride in presenting a robust menu including options like bruschetta, panini, salads, charcuterie boards, and shareables. Patrons can also enjoy a selection of wines and Texas craft beers for both lunch and dinner. The wine-focused restaurant also boasts happy hour specials, such as all wines by the glass and pitchers of beer for $6 from open to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday evenings feature a $25 bottle of wine and a board of bruschetta. The establishment also boasts attractive patio seating to bask in the outdoor charm of San Antonio.
Established more than two decades ago, the name ‘Postino’ stems from the Italian word for postman. The owners chose the name as a tribute to the first outlet of Postino, which was located in a 1940’s post office. The first San Antonio eatery opened at The Rim retail center in 2023.
Ensuring a blend of modern sophistication with a neighborhood charm, company officials stated that the new eatery close to Brackenridge Park and Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston would mirror the design aesthetics of The Rim location. Bridging tradition with a modern touch, they hope to craft an ambiance that resonates with the local community.
Reflecting on the favorable reception of her first venture at The Rim, the Co-founder and CEO of Postino, Lauren Bailey, said, “Honestly, it comes down to a feeling in my gut, and I’ve never felt better than opening a Postino on the thriving Broadway Street corridor. There is so much to love about San Antonio!” Her enthusiasm reflected the local embrace and successful integration of their former venture, igniting optimistic curiosity for the upcoming project.
Details on the official opening are yet to be announced. Connoisseurs and enthusiasts can soon relish the unique Postino experience at 2600 Broadway St., San Antonio
