San Antonio Witnesses Brazen Attack
Just some hours ago, a chilling event unfolded on Austin Street, under the Interstate 35 in San Antonio. A 21-year-old man was rushed to the hospital with multiple stab wounds after he stepped in to halt an alleged assault on his sister.
A Disheartening Scenario
Law enforcement from the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) that responded to the call described a disheartening scenario. The victim and his sister, both believed to be living under the highway due to homelessness, faced an assault from an unexpected source.
The Alleged Assailant
According to police reports, a man known to the siblings, who regularly provided them with food, suddenly turned violent. As he purportedly started assaulting the woman, the victim intervened in an attempt to protect his sister.
A Violent Turn
SAPD further explained that the confrontation took a violent turn. The man allegedly retaliated by stabbing the brother in the torso and fleeing the scene. He was last seen escaping in a white vehicle; however, the make and model remain unidentified at this point.
The Victim’s Status
Emergency medical services were promptly dispatched to the scene. The victim was quickly transported to a local hospital in a critical condition due to the multiple stab wounds he sustained. However, a preliminary report from SAPD around 9:30 a.m. reported that the victim had attained stable condition after life-saving intervention by the medical team.
Ongoing Investigation
SAPD is currently conducting an in-depth investigation of the case. Simultaneously, a manhunt is on for the alleged assailant. An immediate city-wide alert and surveillance of CCTV footages are underway to identify and locate the white car the man used to flee the scene after the attack.

While Austin Street, usually a busy artery running underneath Interstate 35 on downtown’s near East Side, is now a crime scene, SAPD urges any potential witnesses to come forward. The authorities are keen on piecing together the events leading up to the crime and bringing the perpetrator to justice.
