As a reward for her winning entries, Flores received a check of $20,000. In addition to the monetary prospect, her products will also be sold in H-E-B grocery stores within the next 1-2 months. Among them, the grand prize and $25,000 were awarded to Austin business owner Donelle Mendoza for her Birria Seasoning Bombs. In the second place, Meredith Sears & Family’s Certified Country Lemonade from Austin received a cash reward of $15,000. Matt Balke and Hannah Davis of Dallas won the third prize with a cash award of $10,000 for their Blue Corn Butterscotch Pancake Mix.
Flores has been selling her award-winning products at the New Braunfels Farmers Market every weekend and monthly at the Bulverde Farmers Market. The attention garnered by the recent win is expected to amplify her business prospects significantly, reaching more potential customers with the tantalizing tastes of her treasured family recipes.
