San Antonio Welcomes Another Discount Home Decor Store

HomeSense Opens in Northside’s Northwoods Shopping Center

San Antonio residents now have more places to find discounted home decor items as HomeSense will open its second location in the city. The new store will be located at the Northwoods Shopping Center in the Northside off Loop 1604 near Highway 281, taking up space that was once occupied by Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Discounted Items Galore

At HomeSense, you can find a myriad of items with prices 20 to 50 percent lower than the full rates, according to the company website. Customers can shop for Persian rugs, furniture, wall art, bedding, mirrors, and thing else needed to make a house a home. Furthermore, HomeSense offers patio furniture and has a full-fledged lighting department.

Expect to Save

HomeSense, part of the T.J.Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, and Sierra family of stores, operates on the principle of discount shopping. This will be the second HomeSense location in San Antonio, following their store opening at The Rim earlier this year.

Perfect Fit for Northwoods Shopping Center

With a Marshalls store already present, this new HomeSense store is a perfect addition to the Northwoods Shopping Center, allowing customers to find everything they need for an extravagant home decor shopping spree.

Opening Date Unconfirmed

Although a “coming soon” sign is displayed at the new location, the specific opening date is yet to be announced. According to a TDLR filing, the project, which is estimated to cost $2 million, is expected to be completed by January 2025.

Bed, Bath & Beyond Spaces Getting a Makeover

This isn’t the first time a HomeSense store has filled a void left by the departure of Bed, Bath & Beyond. In August, HomeGoods introduced their latest store in San Antonio at the Alamo Quarry Market, which was previously occupied by Bed, Bath & Beyond. These new additions are contributing to the growing empire of home decor spots showing that demand is quite high in San Antonio.

Candice’s Insight

Candice Avila-Garcia, Deputy Editor, shares her views regarding these developments. As a San Antonio native and graduate from the University of the Incarnate with robust experience in both broadcast news and public relations, Candice predicts that the introduction of brands such as HomeSense in San Antonio can drive competition in the market, possibly leading to better prices and more selection for local consumers.
