1923′ Filming Schedule Changes in San Antonio

Paramount+’s ‘1923’ Reschedules Downtown San Antonio Filming with a Shakeup

San Antonio – The filming schedule for the Paramount+ TV series ‘1923’, taking place in downtown San Antonio, has witnessed a significant reshuffle. Viewers can look forward to a new spectacle, but the locals and drivers need to keep an eye on shifted road closures this month.

‘1923’ Shuts Down Sidewalks, Roads, and Businesses

The popular Yellowstone prequel ‘1923’ is already being shot in the heart of San Antonio. However, the filming has also led to the shutting down of sidewalks, roads, and some businesses in the coming days. The filming of the second season of the famed TV series is expected to complete by September 27 according to the original schedule, but adjustments can be expected in the proposed closures.

What to Expect During the ‘1923’ Filming Schedule in Downtown San Antonio

The downtown residents and visitors to San Antonio need to be aware of the closures. During September 19-25, Broadway from East Pecan to East Travis would be closed to vehicular traffic, having sidewalks open for pedestrian traffic. However, the cross streets will remain open on September 19 and September 25.

Furthermore, between September 20-24, the same strip on Broadway, as well as East Travis from Jefferson to North Alamo, and Peacock Alley from Jefferson to North Alamo, would be closed to vehicular traffic. This time, however, sidewalks would remain open except for the 23rd.

Estimated Closures and Reopenings

On the 23rd of September, businesses along with sidewalks will be closed in the morning, and are expected to reopen by the afternoon. All closures will be fully restored to normal operations by, or before, September 27.

Filming – an Economic Boost for San Antonio

Such closures and changes can create a significant impact on daily commute and local businesses. However, filming in San Antonio also brings a lot of attention and budget to the local economy. The city has allowed the filming of several productions over the years, and ‘1923’ is a prestigious addition to that list.

‘1923’ portrays the story of the Dutton Family, where James Badge Dale plays the role of John Dutton Sr., and Harrison Ford portrays Jacob Dutton. The production team has been working meticulously to minimize inconvenience to the residents and uplift the local community.

Last Words

San Antonio’s downtown scene will be buzzing with filming activity in the coming days. If you’re a local or planning to visit, make sure to note down these adjusted road closures and plan your commute around them. And maybe, just maybe, catch a glimpse of the actors and the filming process of this popular TV series.
