The San Antonio Franchise of Dirty Dough Cookie Chain Appeals to the Community for Help

San Antonio’s beloved cookie shop, Dirty Dough, has issued an urgent plea to their fans to help keep their lights on. The Stone Oak franchisee of the Arizona-based chain, specializing in freshly-baked, indulgent, stuffed cookies, made an appeal on the San Antonio Restaurants Facebook page.

A Desperate Plea for Support

In an emotional post, the franchisee shared, “I am BEGGING you all to come in and buy a cookie or two today or tomorrow. We need to sell 500 cookies to keep our doors open. We are staffed up and ready for a big support from our community here.” The post also revealed that the franchise owner has invested their life savings into the business and expressed their frustration over the lack of public awareness of their offerings, or even their existence.

A Brief History of the San Antonio Shop

The Stone Oak Parkway store first opened in 2023 under a different franchisee and had a brief operation of six months before it had to shut its doors in December the same year. A second location operates at Potranco Road, being unaffiliated with the Stone Oak franchise. As stated on its website, the Dirty Dough chain boasts over 100 stores nationwide.

Store Timings

For those looking to lend a hand to the struggling cookie shop, the Dirty Dough’s Stone Oak store operates from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and extends its working hours to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. While the business faces its darkest hour, the silver lining could potentially be the community rallying around to help this local franchise get back on its feet.

Community Support Critical

Local businesses like the Dirty Dough cookie shop form the backbone of the community, contributing to local employment, and adding to the distinct charm of the neighborhood. The current crisis faced by this San Antonio franchise is, in many ways, a reflection of the challenges faced by small businesses across the country. While circumstances may have pushed them to the edge, it could be the commitment and support of the local community that pulls them back. And in San Antonio, the franchise has offered an easy and delicious way to do just that – one cookie at a time!

Together, the community has the power to help this franchise rise again. Who knew that saving a local business could taste so sweet?
