San Antonio Man Arrested After Making Threats Against Local High School Van Driver

San Antonio Man Arrested for Making Threats Against Local High School

In San Antonio, Texas, a local man is facing serious legal troubles after reportedly making a terrifying phone call aimed at a high school. This incident has sparked conversations about safety and appropriate behavior, especially when it comes to our children. Let’s dive into what happened.

What Happened?

According to a recent report, 52-year-old Robert Charles Stead made a phone call to the Lutheran High School of San Antonio on Thursday morning. During his call, he left a message that was anything but friendly. The contents of the voicemail were quite shocking, filled with profanities and aggressive language directed at a school van driver. Stead was furious about the way the driver was operating the van, accusing him of driving recklessly while children were aboard.

The Content of the Call

The voicemail that Stead left included some very explicit language about the situation he witnessed on Babcock Rd.. He expressed his anger, saying, “I’m calling to tell you that you got some stupid a**…in a van cutting people off…” He went on to make an alarming statement that if he saw the driver again, he would run him off the road. This kind of talk raises a lot of eyebrows, to say the least.

Stead didn’t stop there. A few hours later, he called the school again, this time speaking directly to a receptionist. Instead of calming down, he escalated the situation further by verbally abusing her and continuing to use profane language. This kind of behavior is not only inappropriate but also concerning, especially in a community focused on protecting its children.

Deputies Take Action

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) took the situation seriously. After receiving the information from the school, they began tracking down the phone number used by Stead. It didn’t take long for deputies to trace the call back to Stead’s business.

On Friday, they visited his home to discuss the situation. Interestingly, Stead refused to communicate with the deputies, insisting that he was only trying to lodge a complaint about perceived reckless driving. However, the arrest warrant clearly highlighted that Stead’s threats were aimed directly at the safety of children being transported in the van.

Legal Ramifications

As a result of his actions, Stead was arrested and charged with Terroristic Threats on Friday night. This charge is a serious felony that indicates law enforcement’s acknowledgment of the potential danger that could arise from such behavior. Thankfully, the authorities were prompt in their response to ensure the safety of the students.

Aftermath and Release

After spending the night in jail, Stead was able to post his bond, set at $7,500, and he was released the next morning. The legal proceedings following this incident are still unfolding, and many in the community are watching closely, concerned about what these developments might mean for school safety and community standards.

What Does This Mean for the Community?

This case raises important questions about how we communicate frustration in our daily lives—especially when it involves our children. While it’s natural to feel protective, making threats can have serious consequences, both legally and for community morale. It serves as a reminder that we must all work to create a safe environment for everyone, especially those who are vulnerable.

The incident at Lutheran High School highlights the need for civil discourse and understanding in our growing communities. Let’s hope that moving forward, everyone can keep their cool while addressing concerns—after all, it’s always better to talk things out like adults!
