In the bustling city of San Antonio, sheriff’s investigators are stepping up their efforts to solve the heartbreaking murder of Stacey Dramiga. This tragic case has captured the attention of the community, and now the Bexar County sheriff’s office is enlisting the help of San Antonio Crime Stoppers to gather new leads.
Stacey Dramiga, a 63-year-old woman, was reported missing after she embarked on a long walk along the peaceful Salado Creek Greenway on the afternoon of September 22. She started her stroll at Covington Park, located in the 2600 block of Rigsby Avenue. Sadly, what started as a simple afternoon activity turned into a nightmare for her family and friends.
The very next day, authorities discovered her body approximately three miles away, near Dafoste Park. Autopsy reports from the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Dramiga had tragically lost her life due to head trauma. With the case still unsolved, investigators are doing everything in their power to find justice for her.
Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar shared with the community that while there are some leads, the investigation remains ongoing. “The good thing for us is we’ve got some evidence that we’re working with,” Salazar mentioned, showing a glimmer of hope. He expressed his desire for a more rapid resolution, “Would I have loved to be able to put somebody in jail by now for the case? Absolutely.”
Initially, just days after Dramiga’s body was found, hope seemed high when investigators arrested a man named Marco Antonio Flores, 37. He was taken into custody not for the murder but due to suspicion of evading arrest while behaving suspiciously near the crime scene. Sheriff Salazar explained, “He evaded deputies when they began asking him questions. He did seem at that time that he knew a little too much about the homicide case.” At this point, Flores is still considered a “person of interest” but is not a suspect.
While the investigation continues, Sheriff Salazar is calling upon the community to help by sharing any information they might have about the case. “It is a Crime Stoppers case. So I would use this as an opportunity to remind everybody that if you’ve got information on this case, please give us a call,” Salazar urged. Tips can be submitted anonymously, and could potentially earn a reward of up to $5,000.
The sheriff emphasized the importance of every single piece of information, saying, “No matter how small it may seem, your tip could make all the difference in getting justice for Stacey and her family.”
If you, or anyone you know, might have insight into the events surrounding the tragedy that befell Stacey Dramiga, you can reach out directly to Crime Stoppers at (210) 224-STOP (7867). Your help could bring peace back to a family that is still healing from such a profound loss.
As San Antonio continues to rally around Stacey’s story, the hope remains that one of the community members might have just the tip needed to crack this case wide open. It serves as a reminder that while investigations can be complex and challenging, the support of the community can often provide the breakthrough that law enforcement desperately seeks.
In the coming weeks, let’s keep an eye on updates regarding this case and continue to stand together for justice in our community.
