In a culinary scene as vibrant as San Antonio’s, an array of emerging restaurants are set to compete for the top Tastemaker Award this year. The selection process was no easy task as it seems that a worthy new spot opens every week in this city with a red-hot food culture.
Voting for the best restaurant is now open to the public in an annual bracket-style competition. People are allowed to vote once a day, through four rounds of competition, with the first round ending on March 17. The winning restaurant will be announced on April 4 at the Tastemaker Awards party held at Briscoe History Museum.
Beacon Hill Market & Deli: This deli exemplifies the simplicity and perfection of sandwich artistry. With their top-quality ingredients, Beacon Hill’s Philly cheesesteaks have become a local favorite.
Blush: This Southtown gem transforms a former comedy club into one of the most charming brunch spots in San Antonio.
Brenner’s Steakhouse on the River Walk: Though part of a chain, this outlet stands out with its unique identity, offering impeccably sourced steaks and an extraordinary dining experience.
Etcetera: Here’s a list of some other competitor restaurants including Bombay Bicycle Club at Hemisfair, Box Street Social, El Buen Paladar, El Cevichero Restaurant y Cantina, Freight Fried Chicken, Greenhouse, Hook Land & Sea, Howdy Child, Leche de Tigre, Mr. Ramen, Nineteen Hyaku, Thai Bird, and Tokyo Cowboy.
Those attending the event will get the opportunity to try bites from the nominated restaurants and sip cocktails courtesy of our sponsors. For those interested in witnessing the competition and culinary delights first hand, tickets for the event can be purchased through the Tastemaker Awards website.
The upcoming competition only reinforces the city’s reputation as a culinary hotbed where committed restaurateurs and chefs are continuously pushing the limits of creativity and flavor. With the public’s role in the competition, it is ensured that the most appreciated and valued restaurants receive the recognition they deserve.
