San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo: Where Fun Meets Tradition!

If you’re in San Antonio, you won’t want to miss out on one of the biggest events of the year! The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo is set to kick off from February 6 to February 23, 2025, promising fun, excitement, and plenty of fair food that’ll have you drooling before you even get through the gates. Held at the stunning 1 Frost Bank Center Drive, this event is a delightful blend of competition and entertainment, perfect for the whole family.

Rodeo Action Galore

For rodeo enthusiasts, this year’s show will be particularly thrilling. With a tournament-style format, a whopping 50 teams will be competing in various rodeo events, creating a sense of excitement and rivalry. During the course of the event, there will be 19 PRCA rodeo performances. Contestants will go head-to-head in each pack, and the top four money winners from each bracket will glide into the Semifinal Round.

The stakes get even higher as the top five riders from each Semifinal advance to the Finals, where the grand title of San Antonio Rodeo Champion awaits the highest earner. And don’t stress if you stumble along the way; on February 22 at 12 PM, contestants who didn’t advance get a chance for redemption. That’s right! They’ll be battling for a spot in the Finals!

Team Roping with Big Prizes

The team roping event is especially enticing, featuring a purse of $377,144 split evenly between two sides — a whopping $188,572 per team! The best part? There’s no aggregate payout, which means that it’s all about snagging that win on the day. Cowpoke fans, this is something you won’t want to overlook!

Feast on Fair Food!

‘Juicy’s’, fair food offerings are sure to make your mouth water. Think onion rings that are “as big as your face”, huge corn dogs, crunchy funnel cakes, tasty smoked turkey legs, and even deep-fried Oreos! And for those with a sweet tooth, don’t skip the chocolate-dipped cheesecake. It’s a feast fit for cowboys and cowgirls!

Timing and Access

General admission to the fairgrounds opens daily at 9 AM and will run until 10 PM each night, except for February 23, when it will close an hour earlier at 8 PM. If you’re planning to catch a rodeo show, the Frost Bank Center will welcome you 90 minutes before showtime.

The rodeo lasts about two hours and is followed by lively music performances, creating a festive atmosphere. Remember, while your fairgrounds ticket covers access to the carnival and stock shows, rodeo entries require their own tickets, so plan accordingly!

Parking and Promotions

Parking won’t be an issue either! The Gold Lot is available for $20 on a first-come, first-served basis, while the off-site Blue Lot is just $10. Plus, enjoy some sweet promotions with select ticket purchases that include H-E-B and Whataburger gift cards. What more can you ask for?

More Than Just Rodeo

Aside from the rodeo smoke and mirrors, there’s so much more to experience, like livestock competitions to ogle at and a petting zoo that the kids will love. Don’t forget to stop by the Expo Hall for some shopping. With an array of attractions on offer, you’ll find something for everyone!

Ready to dive into the fun? For additional information, obtaining tickets, or just to stay in the loop, be sure to check the online resources before heading out. The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo is indeed the place to be this February, so round up your friends and family and make some unforgettable memories!
