Austin Authorities on High Alert in Search for Suspect Linked to San Antonio Murder

Austin on Alert: Search Ongoing for Suspect in San Antonio Shooting Case

AUSTIN, TX – It’s a quiet Tuesday afternoon here in the heart of Texas, but the mood is far from calm as local authorities gear up to help in the search for a suspect wanted in connection with a tragic shooting that took place in nearby San Antonio back in July. The San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) is on high alert, suspecting that the individual may have fled to our vibrant city, adding a layer of concern for safety among residents.

What Happened Back in July?

To give a bit of context, the incident in question unfolded around 9:37 PM on July 7th at a Sonic Drive-In located at 5510 Babcock Road, San Antonio. The victim, Daniel Lacy Shrewsbury, who served as the manager of the establishment, was shot in the chest during a confrontation tied to allegations of counterfeit money. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene as police and emergency services responded to the chaos.

According to SAPD’s investigation, the trouble began when a customer, identified as Adiah Namir Roberson, found herself in a heated dispute regarding some money she had passed that turned out to be counterfeit. As Shrewsbury arrived for his shift, he learned that Roberson had taken cash from an employee. In a bid to document the situation, he went outside to capture the license plate of Roberson’s vehicle.

A Sudden Turn of Events

This is where things escalated quickly. As Shrewsbury was attempting to take the photo, one of Roberson’s associates threatened him, making alarming remarks about an impending assault, hinting that Shrewsbury would “get shot.” Just moments later, Roberson exited the vehicle wielding a gun, and in a shocking turn of events, she fired the weapon, resulting in Shrewsbury’s untimely death.

Since that dreadful night, an arrest warrant for Roberson on charges of Murder and Forgery has been issued, but she has managed to elude law enforcement ever since. San Antonio police are now seeking help from the public, urging anyone who might have information about Roberson’s whereabouts to step forward.

Austin Residents, Stay Alert!

Authorities believe that Roberson may have traveled to Austin, prompting an increased watchfulness among community members. If you see anything suspicious or have any relevant information, you are encouraged to reach out to the police. For those who wish to remain anonymous, tips can be submitted through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting their website or by calling 512-472-8477.

As if a serious crime alert wasn’t enough, there’s an added incentive for individuals who provide crucial information — a reward of up to $5,000 might be offered for tips leading to Roberson’s arrest. It’s certainly a tense situation for the family of Shrewsbury and the broader community, as safety is on everyone’s mind.

Community Reaction

The residents of Austin are known for their friendliness and community spirit. This incident has surely rattled some cages, and conversations about safety and vigilance are bubbling up in coffee shops and on neighborhood forums. It’s essential for everyone to remain aware of their surroundings and report anything out of the ordinary to ensure the protection of our beloved city.

As this story develops, let’s keep the family of Daniel Lacy Shrewsbury in our thoughts and hope for justice while supporting the local authorities in their search for Roberson. Stay tuned for updates as this serious situation continues to unfold.
