San Antonio is buzzing with excitement and compassion this September! The Ringer Pub has embarked on a wonderful initiative that’s sure to warm hearts all around the city. This month, recognized as Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, the pub has organized a Squishmallow drive aimed particularly at putting smiles on the faces of young cancer fighters.
According to Kevin Ranallo, co-owner of The Ringer Pub, this drive is more than just about collecting stuffed toys. It stems from a heartfelt connection he has through his daughter’s friend, who revealed how much kids undergoing chemotherapy appreciate having something soft and cuddly to cling to during such a tough time.
“It’s amazing to see the community come together and support these kiddos who are what I call our special kids that are going through something right now that’s unimaginable at that age,” Ranallo said, expressing his gratitude for the collective efforts of the San Antonio community.
This year marks the third annual Squishmallow donation drive, and the response has been phenomenal. So far, The Ringer Pub has successfully collected over 500 stuffed animals. But they aren’t stopping there! The goal is to reach 750 Squishmallows to donate to the Methodist Children’s Hospital at the end of the month. As September winds down, Ranallo and his team are hopeful that the community will continue to rally behind this noble cause.
If you’re looking to pitch in and make a difference, it’s super easy! You can drop off a Squishmallow at The Ringer Pub, located at 2826 Thousand Oaks Drive in San Antonio. The warm, inviting atmosphere of the pub is the perfect background for spreading kindness and joy to these brave children.
“Just one Squishmallow can make a huge difference in a child’s life,” Kevin notes, highlighting the importance of every single contribution. It’s a great excuse to visit your local pub while also spreading cheer to those in need!
The spirit of giving back is alive and well in San Antonio. As people gather to support the Squishmallow drive, it reflects a strong community bond that extends beyond just one initiative. These small acts of kindness form a larger tapestry of support, demonstrating just how impactful a community can be when it comes together for a good cause.
As we continue to celebrate the friendships and connections within our community this month, let’s keep in mind those who are fighting battles that not many of us can understand. The power of a simple stuffed animal can bring comfort during treacherous times, making it evident that together, we can truly make a difference.
In a world that sometimes feels heavy, it’s uplifting to witness community efforts like this one. The Ringer Pub’s Squishmallow drive is a simple yet powerful reminder that compassion and kindness resonate deeply, one cuddly toy at a time. So, why not grab a Squishmallow to donate and brighten a child’s day this September? Together, we can create a wave of positivity!
