So even if the thermometer says 97, your body might just feel like you’re standing in the direct beam of a summer sun!
Summer Temperatures Breaking Records
Letâs put that into perspective: The average high temperature for this date, based on climate data from the past several decades, is a much more bearable 90 degrees. That makes todayâs forecast a whopping seven degrees above average. In fact, we’re just one degree away from breaking the daily temperature record, which was set back in 1997 at 98 degrees.

By the weekend, though, thereâs a light showing through, with temperatures starting to ease ever so slightly. Expect highs in the low to mid-90s instead of the high 90s.
