The tourism outlook for San Antonio in 2024 paints a promising picture, with a surge in both local and international visitors projected. Officials from Visit San Antonio presented this upbeat forecast to San Antonio’s Economic Workforce Development Committee earlier today.
Andres Munoz, Chief Marketing Officer for Visit San Antonio, was optimistic, stating, “We’re very happy and excited about it.” He noted the positive trends building the tourism sector and said, “A lot of new things have come from the industry into San Antonio.”
Visit San Antonio, the city’s official tourism marketing organization, is apparently on track to meet its 2024 operational goals. “The operational goals are going to be met, probably by the month of August or so, or September,” Munoz opined.
Citing some of the organization’s successful campaigns aimed at boosting both local and international tourism, Munoz reflected on initiatives like “Many Cools of San Antonio”. This campaign showcases unique cooling spots across the city in a bid to attract visitors during the hot summer months.
In terms of robust progress, Munoz laid special emphasis on convention bookings, saying, “The pace of bookings of conventions is very positive. We’re at 74% or so, so that pace is growing significantly“.
Visit San Antonio is not resting on its laurels, but instead looking ahead with a proactive approach to meet and surpass its tourism goals. “We’re looking forward to consider the results and see how we can continue to market the destination positively for travelers from all over…“, stated Munoz.
He firmly believes in continued growth beyond the times of the pandemic, adding, “…hopefully they’ll grow for the future and will continue to grow out of the times of pandemic“.
In conclusion, Visit San Antonio’s outlook for the city’s tourism sector is indeed promising. The organization plans to enhance the city’s appeal and drive economic growth through strategic tourism initiatives while continually re-evaluating strategies to meet the changing demands of the dynamic tourism industry.
