San Antonio Tragedy: Two Young Men Shot Dead in a Garage

San ANTONIO— The quiet of a Sunday morning was shattered by gunfire as a yet unidentified shooter opened fire on two unsuspected victims. Police reports detail a horrific scene where the two young men aged 19 and 20, were shot down in the garage of their residence.

Killer on the Loose

The horrific incident took place at approximately 2:30 a.m. in the 6500 block of Delgado Run, East Side of San Antonio. Marquis Green, 19, and De-mauriae Wayne Grinage, 20, were identified as the victims who suffered fatal gunshot wounds. The shooter approached the garage of the home where the victims were standing and opened fire. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

There is currently no description of the shooter and the motive behind this ghastly act remains unclear. The police are diligently trying to put together the pieces of the puzzle and are following several leads.

Community in Mourning

The incident has sent shockwaves through this close-knit community on the East Side, known for its quiet and safe environment. Neighbors reported being woken up by the sound of gunfire and subsequent sirens, highlighting a nightmare that would change this peaceful neighborhood forever.

Community members held a candlelight vigil Sunday night in remembrance of Green and Grinage. Displaying unity and demanding justice, the grief-stricken crowd held hands, prayed together, and shared memories of the victims. The families of the two young men, still reeling from the shock, pleaded with anyone who had any information about the incident to come forward and help the police with their investigation.

Investigation Underway

San Antonio Police Department representatives, at a press conference, acknowledged that while details surrounding this tragic incident are currently scanty, they remain steadfast in their resolve to bring the perpetrators to justice. As of now, the police are urging anyone with information about the tragic event to contact the San Antonio Police Department or the city’s Crime Stoppers line.

These brutal killings serve as a stark reminder of the urgent need to curb gun violence and ensuring public safety.
