Voters may cast their ballot at any Bexar County vote center between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on March 5. The winners of each primary race will go on to the November 5 general election, where the presidential race will headline federal, state, and county matches. According to HERE NEWS election officials, 42,907 voters cast a ballot in the local Republican primary, and 31,152 people took part in the Democratic primary during the early voting period. According to state election officials, a candidate in a contested primary must receive more than 50% of the vote to win their race outright. Otherwise, the top two vote-getters who receive less than 50% of the vote in a primary will go to a May 28 runoff election.

State elections officials said voters must present one of the seven acceptable forms of photo ID, including a Texas driver’s license, Texas personal identification card, passport, Texas handgun license, military identification card, citizenship certificate, or Texas election identification certificate.
