San Antonio Weather Update: Warm Days Ahead with a Cold Front on the Horizon!
Hey there, San Antonio! If you stepped outside today, you probably noticed the beautiful warm temperatures and that sticky humidity in the air. It’s definitely a classic day here in our fair city, but hold onto your hats because there’s a cold front making its way to town, bringing with it some much-needed relief and a potential for thunderstorms!
What to Expect on Monday
Starting your week off right, Monday morning will present a mild and breezy atmosphere. There might be a few sprinkles, mist, or even some patchy light rain to greet you, so keep that umbrella handy just in case! It’s going to be the kind of morning where the streets are a little wet, and you might spot some puddles as you head out for your morning coffee.
As the day progresses towards afternoon, expect the clouds to break a bit. You can look forward to partly sunny skies and temperatures soaring into the upper 80s. Some lucky spots might even inch their way up to around 90 degrees! So, grab that iced tea and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.
The Cold Front Arrives
Now, let’s talk about that cold front that’s set to arrive during the evening hours. It’s expected to reach the western edges of our area after sunset, and inch its way into the San Antonio region between 10 PM and 1 AM. Once it arrives, it could bring with it a line of rain and possibly some isolated thunderstorms. If you’re planning a late-night out, keep an eye on the skies!
As this front pushes through, we might see a few showers pop up and an isolated thunderstorm here and there before the main event hits. But don’t worry; any storm activity will be manageable!
A Chance of Severe Weather
The weather folks are keeping a close watch on the atmosphere, as the conditions are just right for some storm development. There’s a level 1 out of 5 “marginal” severe storm outlook in place, and it might expand to cover more areas as the day goes on. The most significant hazards to be aware of will be strong gusty winds and the risk of hail in any robust storms that do form.
Rainfall Expectations
Rainfall amounts could vary quite a bit depending on where you are. We could see anywhere from 0.50″ to as much as 1.50″+ in areas where storm lines form. Unfortunately, those of you located to the west may end up getting less rain. So, let’s keep our fingers crossed for a good soaking to keep our gardens happy!
Cooler Temperatures Ahead
Once the cold front moves through, we can look forward to a delightful drop in temperatures. Expect the mercury to settle into the comfortable mid-70s, and the humidity levels will be dropping for a couple of days! This Pacific cool air might not be as frigid as polar air, but it sure will make outdoor activities more enjoyable.
But don’t get too cozy just yet! By the end of the week, we might see the return of increased humidity and another round of rain on the horizon. So, be prepared for whatever the weather might throw our way!
That wraps up your San Antonio weather update for now. Stay safe out there, and enjoy what this week has to offer!
