Hey there, San Antonio! As we dive into another week, it looks like we’re in for some warmer temperatures ahead with not much rain in sight. If you’ve been keeping an eye on the weather, you might have noticed that we’re right in the middle of a dry spell. Based on the latest updates, even though we had a refreshing taste of fall weather last week, the heat is creeping back in.
Starting our Monday, expect a lovely morning with temperatures hanging around the upper 50s to lower 60s. That’s right, you might even want to grab a light jacket as you head out. But don’t get too cozy, because by afternoon, the mercury is likely to rise into the upper 80s, flirting with the 90-degree mark as we go through the week.
This week might just be one of the coolest days we have, with Tuesday reaching about 88 or 89 degrees and Wednesday possibly pushing us over the 90-degree threshold. So while the mornings might feel nice, it’s a good idea to keep the sunscreen handy during the day!
Now, let’s address the elephant in the room: rain. If you’ve been hoping for a good downpour, it looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer. According to the National Drought Mitigation Center, a whopping 86% of Texas is currently experiencing abnormally dry conditions, marking a concerning start to drought levels. It’s even more pronounced in areas surrounding San Antonio, with several counties, including Bexar and Travis, feeling the impact.
For those keeping tabs on local conditions, more than 164 counties in Texas are under burn bans. That’s right, while you might be craving a cozy campfire night, safety is the priority when it comes to fire hazards under these conditions!
Now, as we inch closer to Halloween, that brings up another interesting question: what will the weather be like on October 31st? Well, current forecasts suggest it could still be quite warm, with temperatures hanging around the middle to upper 80s. This contrasts sharply with last year’s chillier Halloween, so if you’re planning your costume, you might want to keep it light and breezy!
If you’re keeping score, the record high for Halloween here in San Antonio stands at 89 degrees, which we managed to reach back in 1997. Will we break any records this year? Only time will tell, and since it’s still a week away, it might be best to keep that calendar pencil handy—not permanent marker—just in case things change!
As we look further into the week and beyond, it seems like warmer and drier weather will continue to dominate the forecast. Unfortunately, long-range models are not indicating that any rain will be participating in the San Antonio weather scene anytime soon. However, one glimmer of hope might peek through as we get closer to November—who knows, a little shower could show up right then?
While we hope for some much-needed rain, enjoy what this week has to offer and embrace the warmth. Whether you’re enjoying outdoor activities, catching up with friends, or simply soaking in the sunshine, make the most of your time this week. Have a lovely week ahead, San Antonio!
