San Antonio Weather Forecast: Expect a Warm Week Ahead with Fall-Like Mornings

San Antonio Weather Update: A Mix of Fall and Summer!

Hey there, San Antonio! As we cruise into the middle of October, it looks like our beloved city is getting ready for some more warm weather. After a brief taste of fall, where we enjoyed the cool breezes and lower temperatures, summer seems to want to stick around just a bit longer. So, let’s dive into what you can expect in the upcoming week!

Taking a Look Back

October started off with a real bang in San Antonio, with the first 15 days all hitting at least 90 degrees. That’s pretty toasty! The recent cold front brought a sigh of relief, cooling us down and making it feel a bit more like fall. However, don’t put away those summer clothes just yet; it seems the heat is making a swift comeback.

What’s in Store?

Starting this Sunday, we can expect temperatures to begin rising steadily. The good news? Mornings will remain comfortable with lows in the lower to mid-60s. So, if you’re an early bird, that’s perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or going for a jog. As the day progresses, you might want to step outside just before 10 a.m. because that’s when temperatures will begin to climb above 70 degrees.

By noon, we can expect temperatures to hover in the upper 70s, and as the afternoon rolls in, they will peak around the mid-80s, all under those lovely partly sunny skies. The evening should be nice too, with temperatures dropping back into the 70s after 7 p.m. It sounds like a delightful day to enjoy the outdoors!

This Week’s Temperature Climb

Moving into Monday, expect temperatures in the mid to high 80s. On Tuesday, that’ll bump up a notch or two, with forecasts showing highs near 88 to 89 degrees in our area. But hold onto your sun hats, because by Wednesday and Thursday, we’ll be feeling the heat again with temps soaring into the upper 80s to lower 90s across South Texas.

With high pressure sticking around, the likelihood of rain is slim to none, so you might want to plan those outdoor activities. However, some models hint at a weak cold front rolling in by Thursday evening or Friday, offering a little bit of a cooling trend, but don’t expect a dramatic drop. Overall, it looks like we’re in for a warm stretch that could last beyond the weekend.

What About Halloween?

Now, let’s talk about everyone’s favorite fall event—Halloween! As it stands, temperatures are projected to remain above average through late October into early November. The Climate Prediction Center is hinting that we might have highs once again pushing those upper 80s, if not hitting the 90s. That’s certainly not a typical chilly Halloween, but it’s not unheard of in our neck of the woods!

For those curious about the potential for cooler temperatures around Halloween, hang tight! While a cold front is on the table, it remains too early to predict exactly how the weather will treat us on the big day. It’s a good idea to keep checking the forecasts as we get closer!

A Rare Phenomenon

It’s worth mentioning that it’s somewhat rare, but certainly not impossible, to see 90-degree weather extend into November. In fact, it has happened twice since the turn of the century, back in 2005 and again in 2017. So, while we all might be daydreaming of cozy sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes, Mother Nature has her own plans!

Stay Updated!

As we gear up for another week of fluctuating weather, make sure to stay informed! Whether you’re heading out for a fun family day, planning a gathering with friends, or just trying to enjoy the beautiful San Antonio outdoors, knowing what’s coming can help you be prepared.

That’s a wrap for this weather update! Remember to enjoy the warmth while it lasts, and if you see any unique weather happenings this week, don’t hesitate to share. Happy October, San Antonio!
