San Antonio—In the climate of South Texas, where late summer can be marked by lingering warmth and sticky humidity, a forecast of fall-like mornings and a respite from the muggy weather could just be the breath of fresh air that residents have been waiting for. And, starting this weekend, that is just what’s on the weather menu for the residents of the Alamo City and its surrounding areas.
The city can expect yet another warm, humid, and breezy day on Friday. With highs almost touching 90°F under partly cloudy skies, the morning could be muggy. But residents will also notice a healthy breeze out of the north-northeast, with occasional gusts upwards of 25 mph.
As if on a positive note, the forecast also features a very minimal chance of rain, only about a 10% chance, generally through 8 p.m.
While Saturday’s forecast too predicts sunshine, a breezy north wind, and temperatures lingering around the low 90s, transformations will begin to arrive by the evening. A change commuters and residents will feel quite literally in the air. Drier air will seep into South Texas, leading to a drop in the dewpoints, and consequently, in morning temperatures.
Lowest temperatures are expected to be around low 60s by Sunday morning. This could be the coolest morning San Antonio has seen since late May. There is even a possibility of temperatures dropping to upper 50s across portions of the Hill Country.
Though the mornings will bring back the 60s, and continue to do so through Tuesday, the afternoons will still be sufficiently warm, with temperatures nearing 90° each day. So, while the nights promise shivers, don’t put away those mid-day sunscreens just yet!
Mid-week might see the return of the old friend—humidity—coupled with a few isolated rain chances and more clouds. But rest assured, the cool, fall-like mornings will offer a welcome change in the sultry weather that the residents have become accustomed to in the recent weeks.
So, while San Antonians gear up to enjoy their weekend under the autumn sun, they can do good by packing away their summer gear, for now. A cup of warm cocoa or a walk in the park during the fresh, breezy mornings could be the perfect way to step into the new season, appreciating the simple joys of life.
As we keep an eye on these changing weather conditions, we’ll make sure to bring you further updates as and when there are any significant changes to the weather scenario. Until then, sit back, relax and welcome autumn with open arms and a light sweater!
