San Antonio, TX – Families searching for an affordable outing to escape the summer heat will enjoy a treat with eight free movies at local Santikos Theatres this year.

Return of the Free Summer Movies Series

Santikos announced on Tuesday the return of their “Free Summer Movies Series.” The series, offering free admissions to family-friendly films, will be available across all 26 theater locations except for the Fort Bliss outlet.

From June, on every Tuesday and Wednesday, families will be treated to eight fantastical animated films including the likes of “Trolls Band Together,” “How to Train Your Dragon”, “Shrek 2”, and “Migration.”

Seating and Ticketing Details

Each movie will start at 10 a.m. on the respective dates, with seating offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets will only be available in-person on the day of the show.

“If you’re planning out the summer vacation for the kiddos, why not see a film on the big screen? Grab a large popcorn and drink while you’re there, especially if you’re visiting one of our newly renovated locations, like New Braunfels or Silverado,” suggested Lexi Hazlett, digital media manager for Santikos in a press announcement.

• June 11 & 12: “Minions: The Rise of Guru”
• June 18 & 19: “Trolls Band Together”
• June 25 & 26: “How to Train Your Dragon”
• July 2 & 3: “The Bad Guys”
• July 9 & 10: “Migration”
• July 16 & 17: “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish”
• July 23 & 24: “Shrek 2”
• July 30 & 31: “Sing 2”
